Would you buy a Mercedes or Ferrari and park it in the garage most of the time because you are afraid it would get scratched? Would you live in a town full of potholes and then buy a Ferrari that you always drive it extra carefully and never find a high away to enjoy the Ferrari. Of course not – but that’s exactly what we do with ourselves and our lives, the most potent and marvelous asset we have.
Creating Joy and Happiness
Usually when it comes to doing a new thing or taking any action, our mindset is of “why bother”, “it’s more peaceful this way” or “what’s in it for me”. Most of the times we ponder on what can go wrong or whats the immediate benefit. If we don’t see it, we don’t act. Essentially we are trying to avoid pain or gain immediate reward’s pleasure. What we don’t realize is that real joy and happiness comes from things that are not void of risk and usually are created by positive engagement and effort over longer period of time.
Experiencing – Only way to grow
Inspiration, opportunities and purpose don’t do home delivery and neither does wisdom. Put yourself out there. It’s only you put yourself out there that you develop your ability to create a better life. There is no such thing as “the right” opportunity if you keep waiting – many opportunities are greater because they may be the perfect training ground for the future larger opportunities.
Totality – Awareness is our guide
Many a times, we are afraid to act because we do not to displease others. We have been conditioned not to displease others including partner, friends, parents and bosses and our actions (or inaction) are driven by what reactions, punishment, or reward we expect from them. This in essence is a remote controlled which will not give happiness in the long run to anyone involved.
On the other hand when we act with “Total Awareness” of feelings (including our own) and higher purpose, we empower ourselves to create all around happiness – though it may take longer. Each day the quality of our awareness becomes our guide as move forward.
Intensity – our source power
When I talk about intensity here, it is not about loudness, rashness, or physical effort involved but strength of our words and actions that come out of a deeper grounding and conviction. This is what determines the quality of your results. This is the effectiveness leve
Intensity means, giving yourself completely without reservation and fear once you decide to act a certain way. Intensity does not mean closing yourself to new ideas but until you change your belief acting with full inner strength.
While Ferrari gives us the exhilaration of speed – a life lived intensely and totally creates higher joy for self and others! Is that not motivation enough? What are you waiting for?
