Many situations in life get us worried, throw us off kilter, or get us into paralysis of sort. Whether it is work situation, personal life, or any other area of life, what we forget is the source of our power. We may mourn, we may try harder though there is an underlying sadness in our hearts. We may try to be there for others, we may try to control the situation or simply give up. We may justifying our dis-empowerment on external factors or others around you. In all this we loose our power.
A person who has lost his/her power is of not much value to others let alone themselves. So how does one regain their power?
Detach and Defocus
For anyone to start regaining their power, first they have to clearly identify the areas, situations, and people that are draining their power. Then one by one let go of those by:
- letting go of expectations from the situation or people
- by removing all ill will from your heart and if possible neutralizing the ill with others
- accepting and trusting the wisdom of the universe – that whatever is happening and will happen “is and will be best for you and others”
Re-channel your energy
Once people detach from the person(s) and situation, many would be tempted to simply fill the void and the change in routine created by filling it will substitutes or worse yet things that provide immediate comfort – though they may not add value to your life.
This time is in reality a golden opportunity provided by the universe to “rethink and re- balance” your priorities and where you channel your energy. To do that, identify key areas of your life that are important to you and the ones that provide steady joy and peace in your life.
When looking at your areas also consider where channeling your energy is conflict free and in your control. This is will reduce your risk of going in a spin and strengthen you over time.
Moreover, work to create many diverse areas where you channelize your energy including work, friends, children, reading, meditation, and recreation. Doing so again ensures that you are not caught up in one area of your life and not trying to squeeze out joy and peace from one area or limited interactions in your life.
Joy is in the Now and in Simplicity
Once you have created a re-balanced approach to channeling your creative and loving energy, it’s important to learn to live in the now. Joy is created in the now – it is not created by mulling over the past or worrying about the future.
Another important aspect for us to learn is – finding joy in simple things – in a smile of a stranger or in giving candy to a kid, in a beautiful sunrise or being with nature, in random and simple acts of kindness, and in expressing your gifts in the smallest task you do.
I leave you with an affirmation:
I stay loving, committed for my loved one and I am master of my own destiny, I have in the past and I can NOW recreate joy in my life and support same for loved ones – and I WILL. PremAnand.
That was very well written. To live in the ‘now’, ‘the present’, ‘the moment’ – is in itself raising one’s soul higher.
Yes, sometimes some incidents / behaviour from known /unknown people too affect us deeply; ‘ it does actually paralyse! And it may leave us crippled into inaction for a very long time’. Until one gets awakened, one cannot fathom the real gift of Life – which is a present in itself !!!
I liked especially the examples and instances you have mentioned, such little things do give joy.
Thanks for sharing this.
Yes, we do tend to miss out on ‘the little joys of life’ somewhere and the reason not reaching where we visualise to be.
Take care & God bless,
